District Eligibility Rules:

*K-5 students must be 1 mile or more away(home address) from their neighborhood school.

*6-12 students must be 2 miles or more away(home address) from their school.

Busing Information for Parents

If your child is riding one of our buses, you can obtain their route with the Parent Portal link below. Parents who need transportation to daycare for their child should contact us to get this set up. Please contact our office at least one week in advance for any general education (big bus) route changes, and two weeks in advance for any special education(small bus/minivan) transportation changes.

Our Parent Portal login utilizes a program called e-Link. It retrieves live, up-to-date data from our routing software. The information may change at any moment. Please check your students’ routes regularly so you have the most up-to-date bus times and stops. Any significant changes to your students’ route (more than 5 minutes) will be communicated via phone call or mailed letter. PLEASE BE AT YOUR STOP AT LEAST 5 MINUTES EARLY.

Please be aware that drop-off and pickup times listed in the e-Link program are approximate. Families are encouraged to be patient and flexible during the first few weeks of a new school year while everyone settles into the routine.

Click on the button below to login into e-Link. Keep reading for specific information about the safety procedures and student rules for Owatonna Bus Company.

Understand Our Safety Procedures

Because our routes are constantly being adjusted to better serve the community, it is possible that your students’ route and time may change. The current route in e-Link is drawn from our system in real-time for a result that is accurate at the moment of your request.

For parents of students attending a K-12 public school, you will need your students’ ID number from the Infinite Campus system(school district’s parent portal). The ID number is your username. Your students’ birthday will serve as your initial password for e-Link. Check out this example:

Student ID: 987654321

Birthday: February 1, 2010

Username: 987654321

Password: 02012010

You will be prompted to change your password with your first login. If you have students at St. Mary's or Owatonna Christian School, you can contact Owatonna Bus Company for your login credentials.

Your student's time on the school bus is considered an extension of their school day. All school rules also apply to time on the bus.

  • School Buses are equipped with cameras for the safety of all.
  • Students will be at the bus stop on time. Drivers do not wait for late students.
  • Students will conduct themselves properly at the bus stop.
  • Students will wait off the roadway for the bus to arrive.
  • Students will ONLY cross the road IN FRONT of the bus.
  •  Students are REQUIRED to SIT while riding the school bus.

Riding the school bus is ultimately a privilege. It is not a right according to the Minnesota legislature.

Students can lose the privilege for bad behavior.
